Pilates is a form of exercise which concentrates on strengthening the body with an emphasis on core strength.  This helps to improve general fitness and overall wellbeing.  Pilates concentrates on posture, balance and flexibility.  Pilates is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.

Founded in 1997, Body Control Pilates is widely seen as a global benchmark for safe and effective teaching of the highest quality.  It is Europe’s largest professional Pilates organisation.

Our specialist ‘Pilates for Golfers’ instructor has undertaken industry-leading training in this area, so you know that you are in excellent hands.

Regular Pilates

Body Control Pilates is remarkably effective – and medically-approved. It is holistic in nature, being based upon a well-constructed philosophical foundation. Central to the Method is ‘awareness of your own body’ and each and every exercise is built around its eight basic principles:

  • Relaxation
  • Concentration
  • Co-ordination
  • Centring
  • Alignment
  • Breathing
  • Stamina
  • Flowing Movements

By working on the deep architectural structure of the body, ‘core stability’ is achieved, and then maintained, through increasingly complex movement sequences. Specific problem-areas can be targeted by an exercise, but always in relation to the rest of one’s body.

Your body awareness is heightened by bringing together mind and body – Body Control Pilates literally teaches you to be in control of your body, allowing you to handle stress more effectively and achieve relaxation more easily.

Pilates for golf

We appreciate that not all golfers wish to train in a gym.  For this reason we offer a golf specific Pilates class run by a highly qualified instructor.  Pilates is well known for the way it targets the postural muscles, building strength from the inside out.  It will help to improve posture, helping you to achieve the perfect balance between strength and flexibility.

Pilates for golf will help you to optimise your performance and improve your game.

It will enable you to:
