MASSAGE
Overview
Available at: PRESTONFIELD & MORTONHALL
Muscle tension can develop through everyday activities and postures or through overuse during athletic training. There is sometimes nothing better than to pamper yourself with a relaxing gentle 60 minute massage. Alternatively, you may prefer a deeper treatment to relieve muscle tension. Dana is a highly qualified massage therapist and offers a range of therapy from invigorating sports deep tissue, remedial, relaxing and balancing massage techniques.
During your first session Dana will talk to you about the reason for your visit, she will then advise you on, and proceed with, the best massage approach to relieve your symptoms.
This is available at both our Prestonfield and Mortonhall clinics. You can purchase a one off session or a block of 3 for a reduced rate.
What is a Sports Massage?
Pressure – Moderate/Strong – Adapted to your needs
Sports massage uses specialised techniques (often post exercise) to reduce muscle tightness. It helps to improve your circulation and range of movement, as well as treating and preventing muscle pain.
This type of massage is beneficial for:
- Muscle or joint pain
- Restricted movement
- Muscular Fatigue
As well as helping you heal physically, it can support you in preparing mentally for the rest of your training plan or next big event:
- Help you feel calm, relaxed and ready to take on whatever your sport can throw at you
- Reduce anxiety and tension
- Increase your energy levels, so you’re ready for your next big event
- Reduce pain by relaxing your muscles and releasing natural, pain-killing endorphins
What is a Remedial Massage?
Pressure – Moderate – Adapted to your needs
This is a soft tissue release therapy that will help soothe ongoing muscle pains. It is advised for those who have a chronic ongoing injury or disease e.g. chronic fatigue, lower back pain. The muscle tension release during this treatment will help manage and reduce symptoms of pain and discomfort.
This type of massage is beneficial for:
- Ongoing Pain Management
- Chronic Pain
- Past Injuries
What is a Deep Tissue Massage?
